Creation and use of e-learning materials

Module 4  introduces the topic of e-learning as a useful tool for teachers in increasing students’ creativity and innovativeness in the classroom of the 21st century. The five chapters focus on the following key topics:

  1. Technology is on your side
  2. LMS help your teaching
  3. The effective use of MOOCs
  4. Producing instructional videos
  5. Playing with realities

Technology offers new possibilities of how to be creative in the classroom. We often have reservations about the use of technology in education. However, technology is supposed to support us and not vice versa. The Module shows how taking a more relaxed approach towards the use of technology can make the teaching and learning process more interesting and appealing. Among other things, it discusses how to make the most of learning management systems (LMS) and how to create and use instructional videos.

The iLab Manual Module 4 offers you additional information, useful links and helpful suggestions for Module 4 to enrich your teaching. Based on the cBook it can be used in everyday teaching to deepen some topics or in combination with the iLab (innovation Lab). The iLab is the two-day on-site training course of #Teaching2030, either provided by a project team member or organized in a self-directed way by university teachers. The iLab gives you the opportunity to try out new approaches, methods and competencies from the cBook.

The University of Maribor strives to develop pedagogical excellence within 16 faculties (humanities, technics, medicine and arts). The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) can be traced back to 1959, now including 14 departments with around 100 teachers employed, developing individual fields of economics and business.
